Discover healing and empowerment with Somatic Therapeutic Coaching
My approach
I use Somatic Trauma Informed Coaching, combined with techniques from Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Therapy, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique Tapping), and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
I support building nervous system regulation and flexibility to empower you to move through stress, anxiety, depression and trauma back to whole body health.

I live near a beautiful woodland and river so for in-person sessions I often take my clients out to utilise the natural healing surroundings of nature.
I take a three stage approach to supporting you through resourcing, exploration, and integration.
Resourcing: a period of getting to know each other to create a safe client-coach relationship. We work together to identify the resources you need to support you, and recognise the resources you already have. This can take several sessions to ensure you don't get overwhelmed. Think of it as a kind of strength-building period where we ensure solid foundations are in place. We also look at your goals for working together during this period. And use it as a time of discovery to understand yourself and connection to Self better.
Exploration and Witnessing: this is where we can start to work with any traumatic experiences, challenges, or emotional difficulties you are dealing with. Through gentle exploration with nonjudgemental curiosity, we can look at what is causing you pain or suffering in your life. I use Internal Family Systems Therapy and Somatic Experiencing to help you make sense of your experiences. And coaching techniques to empower you to look differently at your life and who you truly are.
Integration: through this stage we are looking at cementing the understanding and realisations you've experienced and discovered. So that you can see you are so much more than your challenges. This isn't to minimise or dismiss, but so that you can choose values based action that help you move toward the more joyful life you want to live.
I offer anyone considering working with me a free 30 minute consultation so we can discuss your needs and concerns and you can ask any questions that you have. I’ll talk you through options and fees and we come up with a plan together.
About Therapeutic Coaching
Trauma-informed therapeutic coaching is an approach that recognises the profound impact of trauma, stress, and anxiety on the mind-body. Using this method, I combine traditional coaching techniques with an understanding of how trauma affects physical, emotional, and psychological health.
Many of us will have experienced what we call ‘Small T’ trauma - around 70% of the general population. This increases dramatically for minoritised groups and women. This is why I believe that bringing trauma awareness into coaching is absolutely essential to unlocking your potential.
I am also trained in a number of psychotherapeutic techniques including Internal Family Systems, ACT, and EFT. I bring in these techniques, along with my knowledge of the body from nearly three decades of teaching yoga and dance, to support you holistically.
IFS is one of my favourite modalities. The fundamental premise of IFS is that everyone has a "Self," which is characterised by qualities such as curiosity, compassion, and calmness. I would also call this Self our ventral vagal energy (from polyvagal theory) or our true nature.
In this framework, I create a safe and supportive environment, emphasising the importance of body awareness as a pathway to setting attainable goals. Central to somatic trauma-informed coaching is the understanding that trauma can manifest physically through hyperarousal of the nervous system, physical and social disconnection, and interoceptive cues that are too big or too small.
By focusing on somatic sensations, I help you safely explore these sensations, emotions, and thoughts, developing a deeper awareness of how these elements are interconnected. And affect your health, life and career.
In sessions, I utilise techniques such as mindfulness, meditation, spirituality, sensorimotor psychotherapy, and interoceptive awareness to help you reconnect with your body’s wisdom. These practices can build nervous system resilience and flexibility, fostering a greater sense of agency in your life.
Benefits of Therapeutic Coaching
Anyone can benefit from therapeutic coaching. My focus is on creating a compassionate relationship with yourself first and foremost, which enables healing and growth to occur.
The overall aim of coaching is to help you set meaningful goals for your life, identify the things that are holding you back, I call these blockers. And then work out how we remove or work with those blockers so you can create a life that has more meaning, fulfilment and joy.
How It Works
You start with a free 30 minute consultation with me so we can discuss your concerns and answer all your questions about my services. I advise you as to which approach is most suited to you and we work out if we are a good fit for each other. You are under no obligation at this point to continue working with me.
I usually recommend working for a block of 12 sessions initially, setting a clear outcome for the work. Blocks of four sessions can be bolted on thereafter. Or we can meet in a few weeks’ time to review how you are getting on. But it is really up to you. We can work together for as long as you need. We can meet monthly, fortnightly or weekly. Some clients even come twice a week.
Our first session lasts 90 minutes which is what I call Discovery. This is your opportunity to share your history and we dive deeper into what is causing you pain in your life. We unpack what is going on for you, how your body is feeling and experiencing your concerns, and identify your goals for therapeutic coaching. From there we can formulate a plan of action.
We then move into the main body of therapeutic work together. I use a blend of approaches to help you access your parts that need compassionate care and loving kindness. The aim is to heal your wounded parts, shift your mindset, and change your relationship to Self. I give you exercises to do at home so that the therapeutic work continues inbetween sessions.
