Supportive Grief Coaching for Women
Somatic Grief Coaching | St Ives, Cambridgeshire | Online
Coming January 2027
Grief isn't something you can think your way through. It lives in your body.
It's the heaviness in your chest when you wake up. The tiredness that sleep doesn't touch. The wave that catches you in the supermarket queue, or at three in the morning when the world is quiet.
You don't need to be in crisis to deserve support. You don't need to be coping badly, either. Sometimes you just need somewhere soft to set it down, and someone to sit beside you while you find your feet again.
That's what Somatic Grief Coaching is for.
Sessions will commence from January 2027. You can book in a free consultation to discuss further right away, subject to availability.
What is Somatic Grief Coaching?
In Somatic Grief Coaching I weave together structured grief coaching using the STILL Method, and gentle, body-based practices. My approach is to understand that grief is something your whole body goes through. Not a problem to fix. Not a process to hurry along.
This isn't therapy, and it definitely isn't about moving on. It's about finding a way to carry your loss that feels more bearable, and slowly finding your way back to meaning, to connection, and to yourself.
What Grief Can Feel Like
Grief isn’t neat and linear. It is messy and fragmented, and can leave you feeling all over the place.
You might notice:
Feeling numb one day and completely undone the next
Aching, tightness, or a heaviness you can't shake off
Not sleeping, not eating, or not being able to concentrate on anything
Anger, guilt or regret that seems to come from nowhere
Feeling far away from people, or from yourself
That voice saying "I should be over this by now"
You are not grieving wrong. You are not broken. This is your body and your nervous system doing what bodies do when they lose something that mattered.
Who this is for
I work with women who are grieving…
Someone they love. A parent, a partner, a friend, a sibling. Or a much-loved animal who was part of the family, because that grief is real too.
The other kinds of loss. A relationship ending. Children leaving home. A body that's changing in perimenopause. A late diagnosis, and the version of your life that might have been. A chapter quietly closing without anyone noticing but you. Living with chronic illness.
Grief that's new, or grief that's old. Maybe it happened last month. Maybe it was years ago, and it's only now rising to the surface.
You don't have to know how to explain it. We can start with what's happening in your body, and go from there.
How We Work Together
There's no set route through grief, but there is a gentle rhythm I will guide you through. As with all my offerings, you set the pace, but we begin with a six-week, semi-structured programme, then you have the option to continue if you choose.
I use the following framework to support you.
Settling
First, we help your body feel safer and more resourced. You'll go away with simple things you can do on the hard days and the sleepless nights.
Feeling
When you're ready, and only as far as feels okay, we make room for whatever your grief is holding. Sorrow, anger, guilt, love, relief. None of it is too much. None of it is wrong.
Rebuilding
Over time, we look at who you are now, what you want to carry with you, and how to live alongside your loss with more ease and, eventually, more hope.
Is this the right fit for you?
Somatic Grief Coaching is for the natural, painful, very human process of grieving. I want you to have the right support, so I'm honest about where my work ends. It may not be the right fit if:
your loss was sudden, violent or traumatic
your grief has felt stuck and overwhelming for a long time, and everyday life has become really hard
you're living with PTSD, complex trauma or dissociation
you're having thoughts of suicide or self-harm
If that's you, please know you deserve specialist care from a bereavement or trauma therapist. Cruse Bereavement Support, your GP, or NHS Talking Therapies (you can refer yourself) are good places to start.
If you're struggling right now, please call NHS 111 and choose the mental health option, or ring Samaritans any time on 116 123.
Please note: I work exclusively with women and the LGBTQ+ community. My clinic is busy, so your preferred time may not be available straight away.
If something resonates here, I'd love to hear from you. Book a free 30-minute consultation and we'll talk about what you're carrying, and whether we're a good fit to carry some of it together.
I'll talk you through how Somatic Grief Coaching works, the initial six weeks, and how I can provide further support if required.

About my approach
Grief coaching. I've trained in the STILL Method's Life After Loss approach, an accredited grief coaching framework that sees grief through the lens of the nervous system. It gives us practical tools for working with big feelings, building resilience and finding meaning.
Somatic healing. Gentle body awareness and movement, drawing on nearly thirty years of dance and yoga and training in somatic practices. Softening what's been held tight, and coming back home to your body.
Breathwork. Simple, calming breath practices to settle your system and help you ride the waves when they come. Pranayama, the yogic breath, will be joining these later in the year.
Hypnotherapy. A deeply restful, guided state that can help soften the sharpest feelings, and let you hold your memories more tenderly.
“Grief doesn’t leave us. We grow our life around it.”

Therapeutic Coach
I'm a Level 7 qualified somatic coach, accredited with ICF and registered with CMI. I follow both the ICF and CMI codes of conduct, so you can expect a safe and supportive experience.
I specialise in the nervous system, neurodivergence and perimenopause, and I'm currently deepening my training in grief work, gaining the STILL Method Life After Loss accreditation.
I’ve taken this route after suffering a very close loss of my own in 2026. I wanted to ensure that I had this additional toolkit for the women I support.
I’m trained in a range of other modalities, and will be doing another certification in pranayama in 2027.
